The Adventures of Jim Bowie VHS - #VHS1462

This exciting half-hour western series debuted on ABC in September of 1956 and ran until August of 1958. Scott Forbes filled the starring role of Jim Bowie, the nineteenth-century American adventurer who invented the knife that bears his name. One of the early TV shows to catch flack for its frequent use of "the knitfe", led to a cutback in screen violence as the series progressed. Though Scott Forbes (British by birth) was the only regular on the show, he did not appear in every episode but was supported by a strong revolving cast of guest stars. This classic western series contains 12 complete episodes on 3 VHS tapes including : The Pearl and Crown, Convoy of Gold, Jackson Assassination, Gone to Texas, The Select Females, The Outlaw Kingdom, Monsieur Francois, Jim Bowie Comes Home, The Secessionists, The Land Jumpers, The Squatter, Adventures with Audobo and Trapline.

  • 300 minutes, B&W, 1956.
  • Starring Scott Forbes, William Schallert and Joyce Vanderveen.
